          How to do antigen saliva test kit

          To use the COVID-19 saliva test kit, simply follow the instructions in the package insert.

          Before performing the saliva test Lollipop, it’s important to observe the following precautions:

          • Do not place anything in the mouth (food, drinks, chewing gum, tobacco products) for at least 10 minutes before testing
          • Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds) or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.
          • Deeply cough 3-5 times

          This saliva test kit can be performed following two different methods.

          METHOD 1

          1. Remove the cap from the device. 
          2. Insert the sponge into the mouth and swab around the gums (10-15 times) and then place the absorbent wick under the tongue (to collect saliva) until a flow begins to be visible in the test window (approximately 2 minutes).
          3. Take it out and closed the device cap. Then place it on a flat and level surface.
          4. After 15 minutes, read the result.

          METHOD 2

          1. Collect enough fresh saliva specimen (at least 0.5 ml) in a disposable cup.
          2. Remove the cap from the device. 
          3. Place the absorbent wick into the saliva specimens and let it absorb until the flow appears in the test window.
          4. Closed the device cap and place it on a flat and level surface.
          5. Read the result (after 15 minutes).

          How to read antigen saliva test kit

          Saliva rapid test result can be:

          1. Positive: 2 colored lines appear: one in the control region (C) and the other in the test region (T)
          2. Negative: only one colored line appears in the control region (C).
          3. Invalid: the control line (C) does not appear.

          Saliva rapid test accuracy

          A clinical evaluation was conducted by comparing the results obtained using the saliva test kit Lollipop with those obtained by performing a molecular one (RT-PCR). These results demonstrated a specificity of 99.7% and a sensitivity of 99.0% with a total accuracy of 99.6%.

          The COVID-19 saliva test Lollipop is very simple to use and can be used on adults, teens and children who have symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 or believe they have been in contact with a positive person.

          The saliva test can be performed at any time of the day; however, it is recommended to collect the first saliva in the morning

          Tests for children and adolescents should be use with an adult.
