COMPOSITION AND CHARACTERISTICS OF FUMISPORE HA DISINFECTANT FUMIGANT

Active ingredient

The formulation contains hydroxyacetic acid (glycolic acid) and is available in the form of a smoke-generating powder ranging in colour from white to eggshell.

Fumispore HA is a solution designed for environmental treatment through an effective and uniform active-ingredient diffusion technology: “Ultradiffusion” technology.

This technology uses a slow, non-pyrotechnic combustion system that generates dense, homogeneous smoke with three-dimensional diffusion.

The active ingredient is therefore distributed throughout the environment, reaching corners, gaps and areas that are difficult to access, including those that are challenging to treat manually.

Safety and Compliance

Fumispore HA is a registered Medical-Surgical Device and complies with the applicable regulations governing products intended for cleaning surfaces that may come into contact with foodstuffs, products and beverages intended for human and animal consumption.

The formulation also complies with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH) concerning the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals.

Instructions for Use for Environmental disinfection

Fumispore HA is a fumigant intended for environmental disinfection treatments.

The product is specifically intended for the treatment of empty rooms and equipment used for the processing, storage and transportation of food products intended for human and animal consumption.

Fumigation must be carried out only in the absence of people, animals, plants — due to the risk of phytotoxicity — and food products.

Before Treatment

Calculate the volume of the area to be treated.
Determine the correct number of capsules to be used according to the calculated volume.

Environmental Preparation

Before proceeding with the application, carry out the following operations:

Switch off the ventilation systems.
Disconnect the photoelectric cells.
Deactivate the smoke detectors.
Close all exits and access points to the room.
Close or isolate any sources of flammable gas.
Properly protect smoke-sensitive devices and analytical instruments equipped with sensors.

Product Application

Place one or more capsules on heat-resistant supports, ensuring that they are located away from any combustible material.
Open the can.
Light the fuse.
Leave the room immediately.
Keep the room closed for the required contact time.
Clearly display a no-entry warning for the treated area.

Treatment Time

The biocidal action begins after 4 hours of contact time and reaches optimal conditions after 15 hours.

During this period, the room must remain closed and access by people must not be permitted.

At the End of the Treatment

Once the treatment time has elapsed, ventilate the area in order to renew 90% of the atmosphere inside the room.

The indicative time required for air renewal is between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

Biocidal Action in 4 Stages

The biocidal action of Fumispore HA takes place through a process consisting of four consecutive stages:

Diffusion: The biocidal active ingredient is uniformly distributed throughout the entire environment, reaching the various areas of the space being treated.
Aggregation: The microorganisms present in the environment are encapsulated and collected into compact aggregates.
Destruction: The active ingredient exerts its chemical action on the microorganisms, resulting in the destruction of bacteria, fungi and yeasts.
Sedimentation: The aggregates formed during the process subsequently settle, contributing to the progressive cleaning of the air.

The combination of these four stages enables the treatment to act throughout the environment in a distributed and progressive manner, helping to reach even the areas that are more difficult to treat using conventional systems.
